CA Residential Self-Generation (Battery Storage)
The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) offers rebates for installing battery storage systems, providing significant financial support for energy storage technology.
Qualification
- Income-qualified
Single-family: 80% or less AMI; Multifamily (5+ units): Deed-restricted housing AND either 80% of households at 60% AMI or in a DAC.
Not required: energy star certified equipment · ahri matched pair · has income-qualified portion · pre-approval required · permit required · contractor enrollment required · fuel switching required

How to Submit
Customers must apply for a reservation before installing the system. Applications are processed through the participating utility (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, or SoCalGas). Once approved and installed, the final claim form and final invoices must be submitted to issue the rebate.
