Guidance

Lodi Electric Utility residential customers may receive $200 per qualifying AHRI cooling ton for a new air-source heat pump installed in an existing home, up to 8 qualifying tons ($1,600) and no more than 50% of project cost. The address must be in LEU service territory and the complete matched system must satisfy the applicable ducted or ductless efficiency thresholds.

Homeowner Tasks

  • Confirm Lodi Electric service territory

Verify service using the Lodi Electric account or authoritative service-territory data; a Lodi ZIP code alone is not enough.

  • Confirm the home is existing residential construction

New construction and installations required by Title 24 codes or standards are not eligible.

  • Provide utility account-holder information

Provide the account holder's name, account number if known, and applicant relationship to the account holder.

  • Provide the final invoice and purchase or installation date

The final invoice must identify the contractor, customer, date, project address, job description, and cost; model numbers should also be shown.

Contractor Tasks

  • Verify the complete AHRI-certified system

Provide the AHRI Certified Reference Number and certificate for the matched outdoor and indoor equipment.

  • Check all applicable efficiency thresholds

    Ducted: at least 15.2 SEER2, 12.2 EER2, and 7.7 HSPF2. Ductless: at least 15.2 SEER2 and 7.8 HSPF2, plus the existing-heating precondition.

  • Calculate qualifying cooling tons

Divide AHRI cooling capacity in Btuh by 12,000 without rounding.

  • Document model and serial numbers

Record the installed outdoor and indoor model numbers and equipment serial number.

  • Prepare the claim within six months

Submit within six months of purchase or installation with the AHRI certificate and final invoice.

$200 per qualifying AHRI cooling ton, up to 8 qualifying tons ($1,600), and capped at 50% of project cost.
Funding is limited and terms may change or end; grant-funded costs cannot be reimbursed again.
Qualifying rebates are paid by check; allow 8–10 weeks after a complete submission.

Qualification

No special qualification flags for this rebate.

Not required: energy star certified equipment · ahri matched pair · income-qualified · has income-qualified portion · pre-approval required · permit required · contractor enrollment required · fuel switching required

Stackability: If grant funding covers part of the project, the Lodi rebate is limited to remaining eligible cost; no Lodi rebate is available when a grant covers 100% of total cost.
