The SVCE FutureFit Homes Rebate program offers $100 to $13,000 for upgrading existing residential properties to energy-efficient electric appliances. To be eligible, the project must be an existing building with 4 units or fewer, and you must install at least one 'core' appliance such as a heat pump or induction cooktop.
Homeowner Tasks
- Provide a recent Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) utility bill.
Required prior to installation to verify active service and property eligibility.
- Provide proof of income qualification if applying for the enhanced Income-Qualified bonus.
Acceptable documentation includes proof of enrollment in CARE/FERA, WIC, CalFresh, LIHEAP, or a recent federal income tax return showing household income at or below 80% AMI.
- Confirm your property type meets the program requirements.
Eligible properties include existing single-family homes, mobile/manufactured homes, ADUs, and multi-family buildings with 4 units or fewer.
Contractor Tasks
- Install at least one core electric appliance.
Core appliances include a Heat Pump Water Heater, Heat Pump HVAC system, Induction Cooktop/Range, or eligible prewiring.
- Provide a detailed invoice or estimate that explicitly lists the previous fuel type.
The documentation must clearly state whether the replaced equipment was powered by gas or electric resistance.
- Submit post-installation photos of all newly installed equipment.
Photos must clearly show the completed work for each appliance or circuit claiming a rebate.
- Provide a copy of the finalized building permit, if applicable to the project.
Required for installations that mandate local building permits, such as heat pumps or electrical panel upgrades.
- Submit proof and a photo of gas meter removal, if claiming the all-electric bonus.
Only required if the customer is completely removing the gas meter from the property.

Categorical qualification includes CARE, FERA, LIHEAP, CalFresh, WIC, and others. For 'No-Cost' upgrades, investable assets must also be less than $500,000 and home size less than 2,000 sq ft.
