Homeowner Tasks
- Verify your utility service
Ensure your home receives electricity service from Central Coast Community Energy (3CE).
- Hire a participating contractor
Select a contractor enrolled in the TECH Clean California program, or ask your preferred local contractor to enroll at switchison.org/contractors.
- Provide proof of income qualification
If applying for the higher equity rebate amounts, provide proof of enrollment in a CARE/FERA rate to your contractor.
- Enroll in utility programs for grid-connected water heaters
If installing a grid-connected Heat Pump Water Heater, you must enroll in an eligible time-of-use rate, a demand response (DR) program, and a water heater rewards program.

- Verify equipment specifications
Ensure the new HVAC equipment meets Title 24 code minimums (or NEEA Tier 3 for heat pump water heaters).
- Submit the consolidated claim through the TECH portal
Submit claims at catechincentives.com in the same application as TECH and HEEHRA. Include the itemized invoice, building permit, and required photos.
