SMUD My Energy Optimizer Battery Incentives

SMUD offers residential customers upfront incentives for installing qualifying home battery storage systems and enrolling them in the My Energy Optimizer® (MEO) program. As of June 2024, the MEO Partner+ (VPP) level offers $5,000 per battery, up to $10,000 for two batteries, plus ongoing performance payments. Enrollment is required.

    Customer must enroll their battery in the My Energy Optimizer Partner+ program to allow grid optimization, and must participate in the Solar and Storage Rate (SSR).

Enrollment typically occurs through the battery installer or SMUD's program portal during or after battery purchase and installation. Requires agreement to program terms for battery control.
