SDG&E - Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)
SDG&E customers can receive significant rebates for installing qualifying battery storage, fuel cells, or wind turbines through the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). Incentives range from $150 to $1,000 per kWh, heavily favoring low-income and high fire-threat area households.
Qualification
- Has income-qualified portion
Standard General Market tier does not require income qualification. The Equity and Equity Resiliency tiers provide highly subsidized rates for qualifying low-income households or customers in high fire-threat areas.
- Contractor enrollment required
Contractors must register as an SGIP Approved Developer through the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) portal. Homeowners must work through these approved developers to submit applications.

Budget & Availability

How to Submit
Work with an SGIP-approved developer to submit an application to the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) before installing the equipment. Funding is currently largely waitlisted.
