Modesto ID Residential Home Improvement Rebate
Rebates capped at 100% of product cost (excludes labor, tax, shipping). Other incentives (except tax credits) are deducted from eligible cost. Attic insulation: $850 cap. MID offers rebates to residential customers for various home improvements that increase energy efficiency. Rebates are available for attic insulation (17¢/sq. ft.), ENERGY STAR® windows ($2/sq. ft.), sunscreens ($1/sq. ft.), whole house fans ($100), solar attic fans ($100), and smart thermostats ($50). Applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase with a paid receipt.
Guidance
The Modesto Irrigation District (MID) Residential Home Improvement Rebate provides $50 to $850 for energy-efficient upgrades, including smart thermostats, fans, windows, sunscreens, and attic insulation. It is exclusively available to current MID electric customers residing in existing residential properties.
Homeowner Tasks
- Confirm you are an active Modesto Irrigation District (MID) electric customer.
Only MID electric customers are eligible for this program.
- Verify the installation is taking place in an existing residential property.
New construction properties are not eligible for this rebate.
- Provide a copy of the dated purchase receipt, contract, or invoice.
The document must be clearly marked as 'paid in full'.
Contractor Tasks
- Install eligible energy efficiency measures.
Eligible measures include Smart Thermostats, Whole House Fans, Solar Attic Fans, ENERGY STAR® Windows, Sunscreens, or Attic Insulation.
- Measure and record the exact specifications of the installation.
You must report the total square footage for windows, sunscreens, and insulation, or the exact unit count for thermostats and fans.
- Provide an itemized invoice marked 'paid in full'.
The invoice must include the specific model numbers for all installed equipment.
- Collect the NFRC sticker for window installations.
If installing ENERGY STAR windows, the NFRC sticker is strictly required for the application.
- Submit the rebate application within 90 days of purchase.
