Participating builders in the Potomac Edison territory can earn a $1,500 incentive for installing an ENERGY STAR certified Heat Pump Water Heater in eligible new construction homes. The equipment must have a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 3.0 or higher.
Homeowner Tasks
- Confirm builder participation
Ensure your home builder is participating in the Potomac Edison New Home Construction program.
- Verify electric utility territory
Confirm that your new construction home is located within the Potomac Edison service area in Maryland.
Contractor Tasks
- Complete program pre-enrollment
Builders must successfully pre-enroll in the incentive program prior to installing any equipment.
- Install qualifying equipment
Install an ENERGY STAR certified Heat Pump Water Heater that meets the minimum 3.0 UEF requirement.
- Submit project documentation to ICF
Provide required home details and energy models to the program implementer (ICF) to verify equipment ratings and claim the incentive.
