Grant amounts vary by vehicle type and location: Plug-in Hybrid ($9,500 base / $11,500 DAC), Battery Electric/Fuel Cell ($10,000 base / $12,000 DAC), Zero-Emission Motorcycle ($4,500 base / $6,500 DAC), or Mobility Option ($7,500 flat). Additional incentives include up to $2,000 for L2 charger installation (reimbursement), up to $1,000 for a portable charger, or up to $1,000 for an EV charge card. Up to $5,000 is available for vehicle adaptive equipment. Total combined lifetime award is capped at $19,000.

Homeowner Tasks

- Submit an application for pre-approval
You must apply and receive pre-approval before making any vehicle purchases or charger installations.
- Wait for the official award letter
Do not proceed with replacing your vehicle or installing a charger until you have received the award letter.
- Retire an eligible older vehicle
Ensure the vehicle being replaced is operational and model year 2007 or older.
Contractor Tasks

Confirm the homeowner has received their award letter before starting any EV charger installation.
- Provide detailed installation quotes or invoices
Supply the homeowner with necessary documentation for the EV charger installation to support their rebate claim.

How to Submit
1. Register for an account on the BAAQMD Fluxx portal (https://baaqmd.fluxx.io/). 2. Submit an online application with required documents (IRS tax transcripts, driver's license, vehicle title, DMV history). 3. Complete a pre-inspection of the retired vehicle. 4. Wait for the official Award Letter. 5. Purchase or lease an eligible clean vehicle from an authorized dealer within 120 days. 6. Scrap the old vehicle at an authorized dismantler.
