Seattle City Light offers a flat $6,000 rebate per unit for installing Ductless Heat Pumps in income-qualified multifamily buildings. Pre-approval is strictly required and the building must have 5 or more units.
Homeowner Tasks
- Verify building eligibility
Ensure the multifamily building consists of 5 or more units.
- Confirm tenant income qualification
Verify that 50% or more of the building's units are occupied by residents enrolled in the Utility Discount Program (UDP).
Contractor Tasks
- Submit pre-approval application
Apply for and receive pre-approval from Seattle City Light before purchasing or installing any equipment.
- Submit project cost documentation
Provide final invoicing and total project costs to ensure the rebate does not exceed the 70% cost cap.
