Benton REA offers low-interest (5%) loans up to $25,000 to help members finance residential energy efficiency projects. To qualify, members must own the home, have an account in good standing, and meet credit score requirements.

Homeowner Tasks

  • Verify account status

    Ensure you own the home and your Benton REA account is in good standing.

  • Submit the loan application

    Complete and submit the energy savings loan application before beginning any work.

  • Meet credit score requirements

    A credit score of 600 or higher is required for higher tier loans.

Contractor Tasks

  • Provide a project estimate

    Supply the homeowner with a detailed quote for the energy efficiency project to include with their loan application.

  • Complete the installation

    Perform the work only after confirming the homeowner's loan application has been approved.

  • Provide final documentation

    Give the homeowner a detailed final invoice and equipment specifications upon project completion.

Do not begin the installation until the loan has been officially approved.
Loans feature a 5% interest rate with repayment terms spanning 3 to 10 years.
Higher tier loan amounts strictly require a minimum credit score of 600.
