Marin County Public Sector (TAM) Adder: Up to $3,000 per L2 port and $750 per L1 port. Site Caps: Level 1 (4-40 ports), Level 2 (2-20 ports). Application Cap: $90,000 ($100,000 in Priority Pop areas). Must maintain MCE service for 5 years.

MCE provides significant rebates for Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging stations at workplaces and multifamily properties. Earn up to $4,500 per port for Level 2 chargers, with additional bonuses available for priority populations and public sector projects in Marin County.

Guidance

The MCE EV Charging Program provides rebates ranging from $750 to $4,500 per port for installing Level 1 or Level 2 EV chargers. This incentive is exclusively available for multi-family properties (4+ units) and workplace/commercial sites that are active MCE electricity customers.

Homeowner Tasks

  • Verify MCE customer status

    Ensure the property has an active MCE electricity account before applying.

  • Confirm property eligibility

    Ensure the installation site is classified as a multi-family property (4 or more units) or a workplace/commercial property.

  • Provide proof of costs

    Supply necessary payment records and itemized cost documentation for the installation project.

Contractor Tasks

  • Install qualifying EV charging equipment

    Install at least one Level 1 (120V) or Level 2 (240V) charging port at the property.

  • Document port quantities and charger types

    Record the exact number of ports installed and the specific project type (Level 1 or Level 2) for the application.

  • Submit proof of installation

    Provide required documentation verifying the completed installation and itemized project costs.

Single-family homes, non-MCE customers, and properties installing zero ports are strictly disqualified from this program.
Projects located in State-designated Priority Populations or at public sector sites in Marin County qualify for bonus multipliers, earning up to $4,500 per Level 2 port.
Standard rebate amounts are $750 per port for Level 1 chargers and $2,500 per port for standard Level 2 chargers.
