Solar + Storage Rebate (LISP Storage)
Rebate is calculated at $300 per kWh of storage capacity, capped at $15,000 per system. The total rebate amount (paired with solar) cannot exceed 50% of the net cost of the system. Net cost is defined as total eligible costs minus any other utility or Energy Trust of Oregon incentives.
Low-Income Service Providers can add an energy storage system to their solar arrays and receive a rebate of up to $15,000, boosting their community resilience during outages.
Guidance
This incentive provides an upfront discount of up to $15,000 for qualified Low-Income Service Providers (LISPs) in Oregon adding energy storage to a solar system. To qualify, the storage system must feature islanding capabilities, and you must use an approved contractor who secures a reservation before beginning construction.
Homeowner Tasks
- Confirm LISP eligibility
Verify that your organization qualifies as a Low-Income Service Provider (LISP) under program rules.
- Verify project location
Ensure the property and installation project are located within the state of Oregon.
Contractor Tasks
- Register as an approved contractor
Ensure your business is actively approved by the ODOE program prior to undertaking the project.
- Submit a reservation request
Apply for and secure an official reservation approval from the program before starting any construction.
- Verify equipment specifications
Ensure the project is adding energy storage to a solar system and that the storage unit has islanding capabilities.
- Apply upfront discount
Provide the incentive amount as an upfront discount directly on the customer's invoice.
