Potomac Edison Maryland residential customers receive standard discounts on qualifying equipment purchased through and installed by participating HVAC contractors. Direct fuel-switching and Home Performance are separate pathways.
Homeowner Tasks
- Confirm the utility and property
Confirm active Maryland residential Potomac Edison service at the installation address.
- Choose a participating HVAC contractor
Use a contractor enrolled in Potomac Edison's residential HVAC program.
- Review the equipment discount
Confirm the applicable standard discount on the customer invoice. Discuss incentive 9883 for a direct fossil-fuel switch.
Contractor Tasks
- Verify qualifying equipment
Verify the installed equipment meets the current program category and certification requirements.
- Document installation and the discount
Retain the customer invoice and equipment/installation evidence required by the current contractor program instructions.
- Use the correct claim pathway
Follow the current participating-contractor process for standard HVAC. Use 9883 for new direct Switch-to-Electric claims. Use Home Performance audit, test-out, and application only for an actual Home Performance project.
