Washington Gas: 'The Washington Gas EmPOWER Maryland programs will end on December 31, 2026, as required by Maryland House Bill 1532. Submit your application and all required documentation no later than December 1 to help ensure review and payment eligibility before the programs end.' Confirm the active gas account, service-address state, matched equipment certification and efficiency before quoting a rebate. Maryland gas-equipment rebates are scheduled to end December 31, 2026; verify the installation and application timing with the program.

Ensure your business is actively registered as a Washington Gas participating contractor before performing the work.
- Verify the selected equipment tier
Record the matched model and rating: furnaces need ENERGY STAR and at least 95.1% AFUE ($500) or 97% ($700). Maryland boilers need 90% ($475) or 95% ($775); Virginia boilers need 95% ($750). Check ENERGY STAR where required. Maryland storage/tankless water heaters need 0.81/0.89 UEF; Virginia storage tiers need 0.81/0.86 UEF and tankless needs ENERGY STAR plus 0.89 UEF.
- Document the specific upgrade type
Document the actual installation or furnace/boiler tune-up. A tune-up rebate is $100 only when a network contractor performs the work, the invoice cost is at least $100, and that equipment has not received a tune-up rebate in the current cycle (MD 2024–2026; VA 2025–2028). Repairs, flushes and maintenance plans are not automatically that service.
