United Power Energy Efficiency Rebates
Effective Jan 1, 2026 (unitedpower.com, read 2026-08-31). Heat pumps (cold-climate/high-efficiency, retrofit only, one unit per member per rolling 12 months): mini-split $250 (2 tons or less) / $500 (over 2 tons); ducted air-source $500 (2 tons or less) / $1,000 (over 2 tons); ground-source (replacement only) $500 (4 tons or less) / $1,000 (over 4 tons); desuperheater $200. Water heating: gas-to-electric conversion $100 (40+ gallon, 240V, tank systems only; heat pump models need UEF 3.30+; no new construction). Carried from prior catalog data pending re-verification: EV home charge wiring $250-$1,000, EV panel upgrade $500, public Level 2 50% up to $2,000, public Level 3 50% up to $4,000, Smart Rewards thermostat credit $30-$60/year, variable speed drives 25% up to $10,000, forklift/pallet jack 50% up to $2,500, commercial motors, commercial LED 20% up to $10,000.
United Power member rebates for cold-climate heat pumps, ground-source systems, water heater conversions, EV charging, and commercial equipment, with amounts effective January 1, 2026.
Guidance
United Power members can earn a $500 to $1,000 rebate for upgrading an existing heating or cooling system to a ducted cold-climate air source heat pump. The installation must be a retrofit in an eligible residential property.
Homeowner Tasks
- Confirm active United Power membership
You must be an active member of United Power prior to starting the installation.
- Verify property and installation eligibility
Ensure the installation is a retrofit replacing or upgrading an existing system in a residential property (Single Family, Multi-Family, or Mobile Home).
- Submit the online application via SmartHub
The application must be completed and submitted through your SmartHub account within 90 days of installation.
Contractor Tasks
- Install eligible cold-climate equipment
Install a ducted cold-climate air source heat pump that is an AHRI-certified matched pair.
- Provide an itemized invoice
Ensure the invoice details the installed equipment and installation costs.
- Take required installation photos
Capture and provide two photos of the newly installed equipment: one of the faceplate and one full-view photo.

How to Submit
Submit the rebate application within 90 days of installation with an itemized invoice and two photographs of the equipment (heat pumps also need the AHRI certificate).
